Fire safety for kids
Fire
Safety & Education, The United
States Fire Administration, helps parents teach kids the importance
of fire safety. The site has all kinds of activities for you to
do with your child, like fire safety games, a coloring book, word
games, and a quiz that kids can pass to become a Junior Fire Marshall.
Sparky the
Firedog is the “spokesdog” of the National Fire Protection Agency.
This site teaches kids all about fire safety and prevention, fire
trucks, and even Dalmatians.
The
Berks County Kid's Safety House web site offers games to help
your child learn about fire hazards. It includes a bedroom and
kitchen hazard hunt, pages that can be printed out and colored in
by your child, and much more.

Bike helmet safety for kids
The
American Academy of Pediatrics has a site from The Injury Prevention
Program that will help parents convince kids to wear helmets and
will help kids enjoy learning about the importance of wearing bicycle
helmets.
The
Bike Hub from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
has great information for parents and fun games for kids that will
teach them the importance of bicycle safety.
General safety for kids
The
Consumer Product Safety Commission created this site to teach
kids how to be safe with consumer products. It includes fun games
for you child to play and has tips on home and bike safety, as well
as firework safety tips.
The
Lil’ Iguana Children’s Safety Foundation provides safety tips
for young children on everything from matches to strangers to skiing.
This is a great site for kids as well as parents.
The
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration web site takes
kids on a virtual safety tour with Vince and Larry, the crash test
dummies, to learn all about being safe while riding bikes, while
in cars, safe at home, in school, at work, and in the community.

The National
Safe Kids Campaign, an organization
dedicated to reducing unintentional injury in children under 14
provides links to web sites containing an array of safety information,
from toys to playgrounds to fire.
SafeUSA is
a working alliance of major public and private partners dedicated
to reducing injuries in the home, on the move, at school, at work,
and in the community. This site includes several useful tips and
many links to other resources.
Lowe's
Home Safety Council, founded by Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse,
is dedicated to helping families improve their quality of life through
knowledge and better home safety practices. It includes tips on
household safety, hidden hazards, and different products to help
childproof your home. It also contains information on fire, water,
and other types of safety hazards.
